Kindle Love

I had been flirting with getting a Kindle, Amazon's new wireless reading device, for a while. Then my loving, insightful parents gave me one for my birthday a month ago. I had been holding off getting one because I was afraid that it just wouldn't be the same as reading ordinary books, that I wouldn't be able to get lost in the story in the same way.

I was dead wrong.

The Kindle is fabulous. So far I have read The Host by Stephenie Meyer (decent but dragged on), When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris (moments of hilarity, and Netherland by Joseph O'Neill (brilliant so far). I have gotten totally and completely lost in all of them. The Kindle is not backlit, so it doesn't hurt your eyes, and its navigation buttons are intuitive and easy to use. Plus, new books only cost ten bucks, so I'm reading stuff that normally I wouldn't be able to afford until they came out in paperback.

The Kindle rocks, even if you're not as obsessed with books as I am. I heartily recommend it.

Hey bud. interesting, I've been wondering about getting one too but hesitant for the same reason. Your review is encouraging, may just give it a try. on the plus side I won't have to wait or pay big ass fees to ship to Dubai.

I've had mine
for 9 months
and it's never left my side
I've read more books
in that time
than I could even imagine
when I bought it
Don't forget good free resources
MobiBooks, FeedBooks, and ManyBooks
